Best known for its association with American bandmaster and composer Karl King , the Oleson Park Music Pavilion was designed by architect Henry Kamphoefner and built in 1938. The excellent example of Streamline Moderne is constructed entirely of cast-in-place reinforced concrete. Sadly, the fountain and wading pool are no longer in operation. The property received funding for restoration through the Save America’s Treasures program, which is how I was first introduced to it. Find out more about the building at the National Register website.
