The Landmark Hotel and Casino (1969-1990) was technically located in Paradise, Nevada, adjacent to Las Vegas proper. It was designed by architect Edward Hendricks, who was inspired by the Space Needle at the Century 21 Exposition in Seattle.  The Landmark was imploded on November 7, 1995, and the site remains a parking lot for the Las Vegas Convention Center today.
