May 8th, 2004 – Arundel Vineyard has officially started!

We got a start on planting the vineyard last Saturday. A co-worker of Barb’s came for a few hours, and the ever-dependable Mr. Wailes helped out all day.

We’ll be going at it again this Saturday and Sunday at 10am. We’d love to have lots of folks join us (for driving directions, see the map below on this page). Again, we’ll be providing food and beverages, with a post-planting party to be held at Welch a week or so later. And of course, nickel tours of the new house!

By the way, it isn’t all grubbing in the ground, so don’t let that hold anyone back from taking part. We developed a pretty good assembly-line process last Saturday, so there’s plenty to do that doesn’t involve getting your knees dirty.
